The South Weber Irrigation Company was first incorporated in 1921, then reincorporated in 1995. South Weber is located on the Weber River south of 1-84, west of Highway 89, and northeast of Hill Air Force Base.
The Company owns and operates an irrigation system providing secondary irrigation water to the shareholders, with the majority residing on the west side of the city.
Water from Weber River is diverted at the mouth of Weber Canyon to a 5.5 mile-long pipe. Water travels about 2.5 miles with an elevation change of 160 feet before reaching the service area.
Agricultural land in South Weber City is being developed at a rapid rate. The City has little culinary water remaining and now requires all residences to use secondary water for outdoor watering.
